A clean new identity and website for TORCH, The Operations Research Collaboration for Healthcare, which brings researchers together in an effort to shape public health action applies advancing health decision making through mathematical modeling.
TORCH is a data modeling and visualization application used by New York University’s Department of Population Health. The platform is home to a set of computer simulations that aim to improve decision-making and healthcare policy. Using data and HIV prevention models developed by NYU, we design and developed a web application for NYU Torch that allows government officials and policy makers to test various various combinations of disease prevention initiatives to determine likely results and optimize budget spend. We developed a user interface using High Charts and AJAX calls to smoothly redraw simulations and highlight data plot points that exist along the optimum “efficient frontier”.
